Two options for photographs.
First is by directly uploading the file to the BB. This is the simplest way, but we would need to put some file size restrictions on otherwise we will get 8Mb files going up !!
This option means the BB server will fill up gradually, but if necessary we could always archive stuff later.
Second is the more common way where users have their photographs already stored in some internet photo hosting service like Photobucket or Flickr. Users then just post using the "Img" tags available when posting a new item. They simply copy the Img tag from their photohosting site and paste it into the BB tag.
I've posted pics below using both. We can use both and leave it to the individual to chose which they prefer. I did try creating a new Photbucket Account for the group, but it kicked me out as being ineligible because it wasn't for personal use. Suspect that will be the same for most of these services. The other downside is users may not feel comfortable putting their photographs onto a shared hosting service.

Re: Posting photographs
Given that we appear to have problems registering, hosting sites are obviously a non starter
Either we allow postings subject to a file size limit (2MB would cover the average digital camera picture) or more creatively we require pictures emailed to a "dump " address where we can retrieve resisze to a sensible (?) level and then post on their behalf

Re: Posting photographs
Have to agree. Posting directly into the forum is much easier, but we can leave it as either / or.
Lets try a file size limit of 2Mb and see how that goes - UPDATED.

Re: Posting photographs
Jim,
I've found another possible option for photographs. I'm installing the script onto the webserver tonight to play about with it. If it works the way I think it should, we will have a link on the Forum which will take any registered user to the gallery using their existing forum logon details, where they should be able to post photographs. Well thats the theory !!
Will drop you anote when its ready to have a look at.

Re: Posting photographs
The photogallery install didn't go as planned. Ended up with critical errors so deleted it again. Will do a bit more homework.
