Put in an avatar for Mo Noon at 100X 70 pixcels and 150 dpi resolution and forum threw it out as too large demanding a file size of under 8 KiB. Do we need to ajust another setting somewhere? Mo`s avatar is in on a reduced file size so not an immediate issue, more from longer term.

the file I originally tried was 100X 70 pixcels @ 150 DPI and properties returns a "size on disk of 11.5KB"
If I expand it to 100x100 I get a size on disk of 15.5kb (actual size 15KB )

Jim,
Anything displayed on the web need only be 72 DPI max. 150 DPI is a printer resolution. So you may find if you create avatars with 72 DPI resolution they will fit within the 9k limit. The limit is the default in phpBB so I guess should work for most cases. However, if 72 DPI still gives you a larger file size we can easily up the file size limit.
